Funeral services for Oilton resident, Mendie Campbell, were held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2018 in the Oilton High School Gymnasium with Rev. Larry Calvert of the Oilton First Baptist Church officiating. Interment followed in the Highland Cemetery at Oilton, OK. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Drumright.
Mendie was born in Cushing, Oklahoma on December 18, 1961 to Lynn Calvin Campbell & Mary Alta (Schonfield) Campbell. She passed from this life suddenly on December 4, 2018 at the age of 56 years, 11 months, & 16 days. Mendie grew up in Drumright until her family moved to Oilton in 1969. She was a 1980 graduate of Oilton High School & continued her education, receiving a Master’s Degree in Environmental Science. She was owner / operator of Campco, an environmental services company. Mendie enjoyed many things in life such as caring for animals, talking to people, playing poker, & traveling. She especially loved to ride motorcycles & watch her kids, or any kids, play sports. But nothing was more important to her than spending time with her kids & the rest of her family. Mendie was preceded in death by her FATHER Lynn in 2017; her GRANDPARENTS: Omer Schonfield – Bill & Mary Campbell; & a NEPHEW: William Calvin “Billbo” Campbell.
Her remaining family includes her CHILDREN: Jon & Hannah of the home; her MOTHER: Mary Campbell; BROTHER: Robert Campbell & wife Tanya; NIECE & NEPHEW: Casey Campbell & Jake Campbell; GRANDMOTHER: Bessie Schonfield; NUMEROUS Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, other relatives & friends.
