Funeral services for Drumright resident, Dorthella James, were held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2017 in the Drumright River of Life Christian Center Rev. Kevin Vogele officiating. Interment followed in the Highland Cemetery at Oilton, OK. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Drumright. Dorthella was born in Drumright, OK on July 3, 1931to the late Jess Velt Williams & Nancy Caroline (Moody) Williams. She passed from this life at Lynwood Village in Cushing, OK on June 22, 2017 at the age of 85 years, 11 months, & 19 days. Dorthella was raised & educated in Olive & was a 1949 graduate of Olive High School. She married Delton Gearl James in Cushing on December 27, 1948 & they raised 3 sons. After her husband’s retirement from the United States Marine Corp, they moved to Drumright in 1970 & have remained here since. Dorthella had worked for the United States Postal Service for a few years but was mostly a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family & friends & was a member of the Drumright River of Life Christian Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her HUSBAND: Delton in 2015; also 2 SONS: Ronnie James & Larry James; 5 BROTHERS: Hardy – Brooks – Howard – Donald - & Bobby Williams; & 2 SISTERS: Irene Groom & Patsy Bohannon.
Her remaining family includes a SON: Jimmie James & wife Diane; GRANDCHILDREN: Randy & Lisa James – David & Cara James – Tara & Don Jackson; GREAT Grandchildren: Zack & Loren James – Candice & Garrett Cloud – Jaron James – Ryan Mushrush – Piper James – Bryson, Rowdy, & Desten Jackson; GREAT Great GRANDCHILDREN: Kyson & Keylee James – Abi & Rylee Cloud; SISTER: Bernice James; & numerous Nieces, Nephews, other relatives & friends.
