Funeral services for Cushing resident, Phoebe Juanita Jones, were held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Drumright Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Mike Howard officiating. Interment followed in Fairlawn Cemetery at Cushing, OK. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Drumright. Phoebe Juanita Jones was born in Cushing, OK on May 13, 1928 to the late Robert Irvin Johnson & Mary Ella (Fowler) Johnson. She passed from this life in Tulsa on February 25, 2017 at the age of 88 years, 9 months, & 12 days. Juanita was raised & educated in Cushing. She had lived for many years in California & had retired as a custodian for Kerr-McGee. On November 26, 1992 she married David Jones in California. After marriage, they returned to Cushing & remained together until his death in 2008. Juanita enjoyed fishing, playing cards & Pogo, & spending time with her family. In addition to her parents & husband, she was preceded in death by a former Husband: John Oliver Mehan; a GRANDDAUGHTER: Roxanne Anita Kerkhoff; & 5 BROTHERS & 5 SISTERS.
Her remaining family includes her CHILDREN: Sharon Kay Loftis of California – Johnny Mehan of Arizona – Marilyn Rose Boyett of Cushing - & Barbara Duncan of Cushing; 15 GRANDCHILDREN – 33 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN – 2 GREATgreat GRANDCHILDREN; & numerous other relatives & friends.
