A casual outdoor memorial celebration & gathering for Drumright resident Billie A. Scribner will be held Sunday, October 25, 2015 at her son’s residence at 900 Whitetail Lane in Drumright. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Drumright. Billie A. Scribner was born in Cushing, Oklahoma on October 14, 1929 to the late James Wade & Minta (Fleming) Wade. She passed from this life in the Drumright Nursing Home on October 16, 2015 at the age of 86 years & 2 days. Billie was raised & educated in Cushing but was a 1947 graduate of Drumright High School. She married William E. “Bill” Scribner in 1947 & they made their home in Drumright. They raised 2 children & she was very active in their activities such as cub scouts, brownies, & athletics. As a family, they spent their summers in Hawaii for many years. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse & had worked in Dr. Hesson’s office for numerous years & had taught LPN classes at Central Vo-Tech. Billie was a member of the Drumright Hospital Auxiliary, the Drumright First United Methodist Church, & numerous other local civic organizations. In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by her HUSBAND in 1993.
Her remaining family includes her children, DAUGHTER: Connie Martin & husband David of Drumright – a SON: Steve Scribner of Drumright; she also embraced as a SON: Takashi Matsukawa of Hawaii; GRANDCHILDREN: William Scribner & fiancé Ashley Gregory – Shame Morgan & wife Laura – Melanie Tucker – Tiffany Shawareb & Hana; 8 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN; a SISTER: Margie Powell of Drumright; & numerous other relatives & loving friends.
