Garry was born in Drumright, Oklahoma on July 3, 1937 to the late George Hitch & Nellie Ethel (Lillie) Hitch. He passed from this life on January 3, 2023 at his home at the age of 85 years & 6 months. Garry was raised and educated in Drumright & was s 1955 graduate of Drumright High School. He joined the United States Army in 1956 and was honorably discharged from the reserves in 1962. He then moved to Cushing, OK and began working for Southwestern Bell Telephone. He retired from A.T.&T. in 1995. He married Shirley Jo Anderson On February 24, 1997 & they made their home in Drumright. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a SON: Brent ; and 2 sisters: Patricia Boyd & Barbara Brewster.
His remaining family includes his Wife: Shirley of the home; 4 Children: Kelley Hitch & wife Melissa of Stillwater – Kenney Hitch & wife Regina of Drumright – Kody Hitch of Eufaula - & Les Ruhmon & wife Kin of Bristow; 8 Grandchildren: Brent – Ashley – Haley – Hannah – Kristina – McKenzie – Jordan – and Xander; 3 Great Great Grandchildren: Rosemary – Ashton -- & Blaze; a Sister: Carla McGill of Texas; & several other relatives and friends.
