Patty was bon in Champaign, Illinois on September 8, 1955 to the late James Ray Shaw & Geraldine (Vandiver) Shaw. She passed from this life at her residence on November 18, 2020 at the age of 65 years, 2 month, & 10 days. Patty was raised in several places due to her father being in the United States Air Force. She had spent time in Europe where her father was stationed, but the family eventually settled in Riverside, California. She lived there for several years until moving to Drumright in 1996 to be closer to her parents. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: Kenneth Shaw.

Her remaining family includes an aunt Patricia Lang of Florida; and numerous cousins - and other relatives.
