Johnny was born in the family home at Mannford, Oklahoma on June 14, 1945 to John Wesley Butler & Maebelle (Ivy) Butler. He passed from this life at his residence on September 19, 2020 at the age of 75 years, 3 months, & 5 days. Johnny was raised & educated in Prattville, Oklahoma. He grew up riding his bicycle all over, often to his favorite swimming hole down Coyote Trail. He graduated in 1963 from Charles Paige High School in Sand Springs, OK & on August 6, 1963 he married Brenda Sue Cobb & they raised 3 children. In 1974 they bought their current home, known as “The Forty”. They renovated an old farmhouse & moved their family from Keystone to their new home in 1975. Even though Johnny had worked for Sheffield Steel for 25 years, his favorite job was being a full-time Dad & Papa. He was known for how much he loved all of his kids and grandbabies. He would be seen at every one of his kids and grandkids activities, livestock shows, & ballgames. He was able to watch 3 generations of his kid’s play ball at Olive. He was also awarded an Honorary Degree from the Olive FFA Chapter. Johnny was preceded in death by his FATHER: J.W. Butler; SON: James Wesley Butler; Mother-in -Law: Almeta Welborn; Sister-In-Law: Sandra Butler; & Niece: Andrea Blocker.
