Graveside masonic services for former Drumright resident, Claude McLaughlin, will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2020 in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Nowata, Oklahoma. Military funeral honors were provided by the United States Navy. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Drumright. Claude Edward McLaughlin was born in Coffeyville, Kansas on February 19, 1924 to the late Harley McLaughlin & Nettie (Beasly) McLaughlin. He passed from this life in Claremore, Oklahoma on June 19, 2020 at the age of 96 years & 4 months. Claude grew up in Drumright & was a graduate of Drumright High School. He joined the United States Navy & served his country during WWII. He married Patsy Sue Worthington in Sedan, Kansas on December 16, 1946 & they remained together until her death in 2000. Claude had worked for Arco Oil Company which took him to Cleveland, Nowata, & Healdton. He & Pat moved back to Drumright in 1978. In 2019, he moved to Talala to be closer to his son. He later became a resident of the Veterans Center in Claremore. Claude was very active in the Drumright Masonic Lodge #468 A.F. & A.M. serving in many capacities, most notably secretary for many years. He was also a member of the Tulsa Valley of Scottish Rite, and Akdar Shrine. He loved watching old western movies, working in the yard, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents & wife, he was preceded in death by 3 BROTHERS: Joe – Lee - & Cecil McLaughlin; 4 SISTERS: Mary – Elvira – Irene - & Nora.
His remaining family includes his SON: Rickey McLaughlin & wife Brenda of Talala; GRANDCHILDREN: Todd & Sarah – Nicholas & Renee – Brandon & Kathy; GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: William – Mason – Julia – Marley – Katie – Tyler – Amelia – Lindsey - & Justin; 3 Great GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: Aria – Brooklynn - & Beckham; 1 BROTHER: Otis McLaughlin of Oklahoma City; plus NUMEROUS Nieces – Nephews – other relatives & friends.
