Graveside funeral rites for former Drumright resident, Dona Lee Smith, were held 1 pm Tuesday, December 17, 2019 in the Highland Cemetery at Oilton, Oklahoma. Rev. George “Marty” Brock of the Olive First Baptist Church officiated. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Drumright.
Dona Lee Smith was born in Oilton, Oklahoma on April 23, 1933 to the late Everett Leroy Scott & Jewel (Schultz) Scott. She passed from this life in Grove, Oklahoma on December 11, 2019 at the age of 86 years, 7 months, & 18 days. Dona grew up in Drumright & was a 1951 graduate of Drumright High School. She married Lew Selman Smith in Drumright on July 17, 1953 & they remained together until his death in October. Lew & Dona owned & operated Smith Bodyshop & Repair for many years until their retirement. Dona was a longtime member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, the Faithful Workers Sunday School Class, the Drumright Garden Club, & the Drumright Historical Society. She was an avid Disney collector & loved to take pictures. In addition to her parents & husband, she was preceded in death by a SISTER: Pat Alexander.
Her remaining family includes her CHILDREN: Kim Smith & wife Balinda of Grove – Tracy Burris of Tulsa – Penny Potter of Tulsa; GRANDCHILDREN: Jill – Cambria – Brady – Jesse – Jamie – Kelsey – Lasay - & Lindsay; GREAT Grandchildren: Grayson – Sullivan – E.T. – Roxana – Charlyce – Kamilla – Trevor – Trenton – Triton – Chloe – Mariah - & Kristian; BROTHER: Jack Scott & wife Penny of Drumright; & NUMEROUS other relatives & friends.
