Obituary for Melva Dean Patton

Graveside rites for Drumright resident, Melva Dean Patton, were held 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 9, 2019 in the Drumright Oak Hill Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Drumright.

Melva Dean Patton was born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma on March 15, 1941 to the late Arthur Ray Johnson & Millie Paoline (Kirk) Johnson. She passed from this life at her residence on December 4, 2019 at the age of 78 years, 8 months, & 19 days. Melva was raised & educated in Sapulpa & at the age of 16, she left school to marry Abner Ray Hall. He worked for O.G.& E.& they made their home in Enid. They later lived in Sapulpa, Drumright, then Ardmore. After Abner’s death in 1981, she moved back to Drumright where she remained the rest of her life. In 1984 she married Max Thorton Patton & they remained together until his death in 1988. Melva loved to garden & work in the yard. She was also very active in the Drumright Senior Citizens & delivered Meals On Wheels for 30+ years. She is believed to be the longest delivery volunteer for the Drumright program. In addition to her parents & husbands, she was preceded in death by a SON: Arthur Ray Hall; & BROTHER: Noel Johnson.

She leave behind her CHILDREN: Jeff Hall & wife Crystal of Drumright – Shelly Bell & husband Larry of Stroud; GRANDCHILDREN: Lindsey – Jessica – Lacey – Tayler – Levi – Jaclyn - Jakob; GREAT Grandchildren: Brynleigh – Mason – Max – Gabriella – Joshua; SISTER: Sue Barber of Sapulpa; & NUMEROUS other relatives - & loving friends.
