Alice Marie Swaffar was born at Slick, Creek County, Oklahoma on December 5, 1932 to the late Walter Long and Ida Elizabeth (Bryson) Long. She passed from this life in Stroud on August 27, 2019 at the age of 86 years, 8 months, and 22 days. Alice had lived much of her entire life in and around Slick. On March 2, 1970 she married Leo Arlin Swaffar, and they remained together until his death in 1999. Alice was a homemaker and enjoyed working in the yard. She also enjoyed cracking and picking pecans. What brought her the most joy was spending time with her family and grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Charlie, Clyde and Lee; and two sisters May and Catherine.

Her remaining family includes her loving son, David Long and wife, Gloria of Slick; three grandchildren, Adam Long an Jarrod Long of Slick, and Mandy Buck and husband, Terrell of Eufaula; a sister, Annie Sullivan and her daughter, Shirley Wagner and husband, Steve of Sand Springs, plus additional nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
