A memorial service for Drumright resident, Richard McClendon, will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2019 in the Memorial Chapel of Michael’s Funeral Home of Drumright. Rev. Kevin Vogele of the Drumright River of Life Christian Center will officiate. Cremation services were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Drumright. Richard Duane McClendon was born in Oilton, Oklahoma on April 18, 1956 to the late Cleo Richard McClendon & Frances June (Cook) McClendon. He passed from this life suddenly in Tulsa on May 10, 2019 at the age of 63 years & 22 days. Richard was raised & educated in the Oilton & has lived all his life in the Oilton / Drumright area. He married Shirley Ann Keeling in Bristow on July 27, 1978 & they raised 2 children. Richard had worked as a construction truck driver & was employed at P.R.S. in Sapulpa. He enjoyed riding his Harley & spending time with his family. In addition to his Grandparents: Floyd & Ida Cook – Oscar & Ruby McClendon, he was preceded in death by his FATHER: Cleo Richard McClendon – his MOTHER & Step-Father: Frances McClendon & Lewis Buffalohorn; SISTER: Patricia Staregowski; BROTHER: Bill McClendon; & MOTHER-In-Law: Ethel Osburn.
He leaves behind his WIFE: Shirley McClendon of the home; CHILDREN: Richard McClendon & wife Nikki of Drumright – Niki Dobson & husband Jason of Drumright; GRANDCHILDREN: Ashlyn – Carter – Brantley – Reagan – Cameron - & Paige; 3 SISTERS: Christine Fuller & husband John of Cushing – Ruby Murphy of Tulsa – Rosanne Henderson of Oklahoma; & SEVERAL: Nieces – Nephews - Cousins - other relatives - & friends.
