Graveside funeral rites for Jennings resident, Kathareen Mills, were held Monday, May 6, 2019 in the Jennings City Cemetery. Rev. Robert Whisnant of the Drumright Cornerstone Lighthouse Church officiated. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home Drumright.
Kathareen Mills was born in Mannford, Oklahoma on November 20, 1952 to the late Dan Barnes & Frances Louise (Sowersbey) Barnes. She passed from this life in Stillwater, Oklahoma on May 2, 2019 at the age of 66 years, 5 months, & 12 days. Kathareen was raised & educated in Mannford & was a 1970 graduate of Mannford High School. She had attended college & made a career as a Certified Nurse Aide. She had worked for many years at the Drumright Nursing Home and at Cimarron Pointe Care Center in Mannford. She married Larry Joe Mills in 2001 & they made their home in Jennings. Kathareen enjoyed sewing, quilting, & square dancing. She was a member of the Cimarron Squares, the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW, & Cornerstone Lighthouse Church in Drumright. She was preceded in death by her father: Dan Barnes – her mother: Frances Fulton; her step-father: Sammie Fulton; & a sister: Rosemary Looney.
She leaves behind her HUSBAND: Larry Mills of Jennings; 2 CHILDREN: Gloria Whiteside-Chalmers of North Carolina – Tommy Whiteside of Drumright; Granddaughter: Miah Chalmers; 2 SISTERS: Ellen Whitaker of Silom Springs – Diane Barnes of Stillwater; & numerous other relatives.
