Jerry Eugene Butts was born in Depew, Oklahoma on September 24, 1944 to the late Earnest Ray Butts and Maudie Fay (Gramm) Butts. He passed from this life at his residence on February 24, 2019 at the age of 74 years and 5 months. Jerry was raised and educated in Bristow and was a 1962 graduate of Bristow High School. He married Sharon Lee Childress on May 1, 1963, and they made their home in the Bristow area. In 1964 he joined the United States Army and served his country, until his honorable discharge from the reserves in 1969. He had worked in security / law enforcement and had retired from the security department at St. Francis Hospital. Jerry Enjoyed reading camping, fishing, and music, especially country and blue grass. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend to all.He never met a stranger and a stranger never knew a better man. He will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Doyle Butts.

He leaves behind his loving WIFE: Sharon Butts, a SON: William Butts, DAUGHTER: Michele Butts-Kerstetter, all of Bristow. 3 GRANDCHILDREN: Steven, Lacy, Christopher and wife, Kaycee: GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: Robert, Skylar, Stetson, Briar, and Sawyer; 1 SISTER: Charlene Barnett and husband Darrell of Bristow; 1 NEPHEW AND 2 NIECES: Dwayne, Yvonne, and Angela; and other relatives and friends.
