Obituary for Anna J. Johns

A wake was held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2019 and funeral services conducted 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2019 in the Community Indian Baptist Church near Sapulpa, Oklahoma for Bristow resident, Anna Johns. Interment followed in Magnolia Memorial Gardens in Bristow. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Bristow.

Ann Johns was born in Vian, Oklahoma on March 20, 1935 to the late Jess Morris & Josie (Dirtseller) Morris. She passed from this life in Tulsa on February 15, 2019 at the age of 83 years. Anna was raised & educated in Vian. In 1979 she moved from Arizona to Bristow. On October 24, 1980 she married Truett Johns & they have remained together until her death. Anna had worked as a seamstress in Arizona & also at Ms. Elaine’s Garment Factory. She was very active in her church and would always look forward to helping during Vacation Bible School. She enjoyed reading the Bible, sewing, knitting, puzzles, & collecting “old people or grandparent” figurines. However, her love for her family & spending time with them brought her the most joy. She was a friend to everyone she met & will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a SON: Newton Armstrong; a DAUGHTER: Katherine Armstrong; & 4 BROTHERS: Joe, Riley, Jess, & Martin Morris.

Her remaining family includes her loving HUSBAND: Truett Johns of the home; CHILDREN: Shirley Thomas of South Carolina – Norman Armstrong, Jr. of Oregon – Audrey Castro of Nevada – Earl Skinner of Tulsa – Sarita Skinner of Tulsa – Vivian Skinner of Texas – Richard Skinner of Tulsa; 30 GRANDCHILDREN – Numerous GREAT & Great GREAT Grandchildren; 1 BROTHER: Pat Morris; 2 SISTERS: Oklahoma Cheater -&- Elizabeth Gutierrez; SEVERAL Nieces – Nephews - other relatives & friends.
