Funeral services for Cushing resident, Don Wilson, will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 9, 2018 in the Cushing First Church of God with Pastor Kevin Clouse officiating. Interment will follow in the Shamrock Cemetery. Funeral services are entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Drumright.

Homer Donald Wilson was born North West of Drumright, Oklahoma on September 17, 1930 to the late Homer Hurney Wilson and Esther Elizabeth (Bohannon) Wilson. He passed from this life on August 5, 2018 at the age of 87 years, 10 months, & 19 days. Don was raised & educated in Drumright & was a 1949 graduate of Drumright High School. In April of 1958, he married Margaret LaFern Weaver in Drumright & they raised two children. They remained together until her death in 1982. Then on December 29, 1989 he married Donita (Harmon) Vaden in Yale, Oklahoma and they have remained together until his death. Don worked 14 years for Bethlehem Supply as a pump repairman, salesman, & store manager. He also worked at Thompson Pump, Drumright Pump, Pacific Pump, and his own business: Wilson Pump and Supply. Don was also a retired member of the Drumright Fire Department and a former member of the Odd Fellows. He enjoyed fishing, watching football, & going to flea markets. He especially enjoyed his brother’s expert fiddle playing. In addition to his parents & first wife, he was preceded in death by two BROTHERS: Darrell & Freddie; one SISTER: Wanda Bennett; & a GRANDSON: Jacob Wilson.

His remaining family includes his WIFE: Donita Wilson of the Cushing home; SON Billy Don Wilson & wife Tami of Bixby; DAUGHTER: LaDonna Gear & husband Jamie of Olive; STEPSON: Bill Vaden and wife Sharon of Cushing; STEPDAUGHTER: Lori Burns of Cushing; GRANDCHILDREN: James – Logan – Benjamin – Levi – Cody – Kati – Jennifer - & Brooke; 13 STEP GREAT Grandchildren; one BROTHER: Jim Wilson & wife Nancy of New Mexico; & numerous Nieces – Nephews - & other relatives.
