Obituary for Kenneth Ryker

Funeral services for Kenneth Ryker, longtime resident of the Drumright Nursing Home, were held 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2018 at the Drumright River of Life Christian Center with Pastor Kevin Vogele officiating. Interment followed in the Oilton Highland Cemetery with Pastor Kevin Varnell officiating. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Drumright.

Kenneth Ryker was born in Oilton, OK on January 27, 1949 to the late Otto Ryker & Sarah Mildred (Johnson) Ryker. He passed from this life suddenly on March 15, 2018 at the age of 69 years, 1 month, & 16 days. Kenneth was raised & educated in the Vid-Away river bottom between Drumright & Oilton. As a youngster, he would go pumping wells with his dad all over the area. In 1975 he became a permanent resident of the Drumright Nursing Home. He was always there to meet & greet people and help anyone he could. He loved spending time with his family and going out to eat on Tuesday evenings. However, he was always ready to go back “home”; to the nursing home. Threw out the years, he had made numerous friends & met countless people, all of whom will miss him very much. His kind and gentle disposition was an inspiration to all. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 BROTHERS: Bill – Don - & Roy Ryker; 3 SISTERS: Delores Lorett – Janice Decker – Karen Burris.

His remaining family includes a BROTHER: Leon Ryker & wife Carol of Eufaula; 2 SISTERS-IN-LAW: Kay Dell Ryker of Drumright – Rose Mary Ryker of Cushing; 2 BROTHERS-IN-LAW: Jack Lorett of Cushing – Bucky Burris of New Mexico; numerous NIECES & NEPHEWS – OTHER RELATIVES – & all the Staff & people of the Drumright Nursing Home.
