Funeral services for rural Bristow resident, Rita O’Neal, were held 2 pm Friday, February 2, 2018 in the Drumright River of Life Christian Center with Rev. Kevin Vogele officiating. Interment followed in the Shamrock Cemetery. Services were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Drumright.
Rita Ann O’Neal was born in Bristow, Oklahoma on February 24, 1958 to the late Sig J. Keeling & Ethel Mae (Smith) Keeling. She passed from this life suddenly in an automobile accident on January 29, 2018 at the age of 59 years, 11 months, & 5 days. Rita was raised & educated in Olive, Oklahoma & attended the Olive schools. She had lived her entire life in the Olive – Drumright – Shamrock – Bristow areas & had mostly worked as a private care certified nurse aide. At the time of her death, she was working as a clerk at R&S Conoco. On June 19, 1975 she married Stephen Kent O’Neal & they remained together until his untimely death in 1978. Rita enjoyed spending time with her friends & family & will be missed by many. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her FATHER; her MOTHER: Ethel (Smith) Keeling Osburn; 2 SONS: Stephen k. O’Neal ii – Sig W, O’Neal; GRANDDAUGHTER: Judith Ambyr Cheyenne Peterson; SISTER: Maria Senich; & BROTHER-IN-LAW: J.D. O’Neal.
Her remaining family includes her DAUGHTER: Heather O’Neal Peterson & husband Christopher; GRANDCHILDREN: Mickia Paige O’Neal – Jordan Herrmann – Patricia O’Neal – Allyson O’Neal – Garrett Peterson – Keegan Peterson – Ty Peterson – Olivia Peterson – Joey Peterson; GREAT Grandchildren: Wyatt O’Neal – Stephyn O’Neal; her PARENTS-IN-LAWS: Patricia & Jerry O’Neal; SISTERS: Ella & Terry Salyer – Effie Osburn – Maxine Inman – Shirley & Richard McClendon; BROTHERS & SISTERS-IN-LAW: Elisa & William Clay – Billy & Mary O’Neal – A.J. & Michael McCollough; & Numerous NIECES, NEPHEWS, other relatives & friends.
