Funeral services for former Drumright resident, Mattie Rowell, were held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 01, 2017 in the Memorial Chapel of Michael’s Funeral Home of Drumright. Interment followed in Euchee Valley Memorial Park near Cushing. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Drumright. Mattie Rowell was born in Proctor, Oklahoma on March 1, 1938 to the late William Monroe Pack & Nancy Jane (Hubbard) Pack. She passed from this life in Tulsa on January 28, 2017 at the age of 78 years, 10 months, & 27 days. Mattie was raised & educated in Proctor. In 1955 she married Adrin Doss & they made their home in Tulsa. While in Tulsa, she worked as a sales clerk at FoodTown & Git-N-Go for numerous years. She had also worked at Escott’s in Cushing until her retirement. In 1985, her life had changed do to the death of her husband. However, in 1986 she met Wayne Rowell from Olive & they courted for several years until uniting in marriage in 2002. Mattie loved animals of all kinds & enjoyed working with her husband on their cattle ranch near Olive. She also liked to cook, go to garage sales, listen to Waylon Jennings, & talk on the grapevine (gossip). In 2005, her life changed again when her husband Wayne died. After his death, she remained on the ranch for 8 years until moving to Sapulpa in 2013. She later became a resident of the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Tulsa. In addition to her parents & two husbands, she was preceded in death by BROTHERS: John Pack – Eugene Pack; ½ BROTHER: Richard Pumpkin; & a ½ SISTER: Vera Napier.



She leaves behind her loving SON: Michael Doss & wife Linda of Tulsa; 2 GRANDCHILDREN - 4 GREAT Grandchildren; 2 SISTERS: Kathrine Hendrix of Edmond – Judy Hamilton of Texas; also numerous Nieces, Nephews, other relatives & friends. Memorials in her name may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
