Graveside funeral rites were held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016 in the Drumright Greenlawn Cemetery for Drumright resident, Phyllis Lemmons. Pastor Sonny Johnston of the Crossway Church in Cushing officiated. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home - Drumright. Phyllis Lemmons was born in Blanchard, OK on April 25, 1939 to the late Oscar Goodman & Alice (Moris) Goodman. She passed from this life at her home on December 22, 2016 at the age of 77 years, 7 months, & 27 days. Phyllis was raised & educated in Oklahoma. The family moved to Borger, Texas where she met James Arthur Lemmons, whom she married there on November 10, 1957. In 1961 they moved from Borger to Drumright & have remained here since. Phyllis was a homemaker & enjoyed working in the yard year round & going camping. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary & loved spending time with her family & friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a SON: James Lemmons in 2014; 1 BROTHER & 1 SISTER.
Her remaining family includes her HUSBAND: Jim Lemmons; 2 SONS: Wade Lemmons of Maud – Glen Lemmons of Chelsea; 15 Grandchildren – 25 GREAT Grandchildren; 3 SISTERS: Margaret Blackwell – Jane Snow - & Hellen Goodman, all of Texas; & several other relatives & friends.
