A memorial service for former Drumright resident, Carl Osterhout, was held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at the Drumright Frist United Methodist Church. Carl Osterhout was born in Mannford, Oklahoma on March 2, 1919 to the late Charles Osterhout & Lou (Mitchell) Osterhout. He passed from this life at his Tulsa residence on January 29, 2016 at the age of 96 years, 10 months, & 27 days. Carl was raised in Mannford. He joined the United States Army in 1942 & served his country during WW II. While in the Army, he met Willa Dene Hale & they were married in 1946. Carl began his career as a licensed funeral director & embalmer in Beggs, OK. In 1955 he moved his family to Drumright when he purchased the Stubblefield-Bennett Funeral Home & operated it until 1973. He then moved to Tulsa where he remained the rest of his life. Carl enjoyed many things in his lifetime but mostly traveling & spending time with his family & friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a BROTHER: Emery Osterhout; 2 SISTERS: Marcell Thompson & Mildred Bolin; & his former wife: Willa D. Osterhout.
His remaining family includes his 3 SONS: Larry Osterhout – C.D. Osterhout & wife Toni – Phil Osterhout & wife Melanie, all of Drumright; GRANDCHILDREN: Cara Stanford – Casey Osterhout – Niki Osterhout – Jamie Osterhout – Taylor Guillot – Carly Guillot - & Colby Williams; 9 Great GRANDCHILDREN – 2 Great Great Grandchildren; SISTER: Joan Mortenson of Okemah; longtime family friend: Duard Goldsburg of Tulsa; & numerous other relatives & friends.
