Funeral services for former Bristow resident, Helen Slawson, were held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2018 in the Memorial Chapel of Michael’s Funeral Home – Bristow. Rev. Tim Busch of the Bristow First Church of God officiated. Interment followed in Magnolia Memorial Gardens in Bristow. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home-Bristow.

Helen was born in Bristow, Oklahoma on September 4, 1925 to the late Cleed Wallace Wyatt & Winnie Davis (Settle) Wyatt. She passed from this life in Catoosa, Oklahoma on July 6, 2018 at the age of 92 years, 10 months, & 2 days. Helen was raised & educated in the Okemah area & was a graduate of Okemah High School. She married Robert Dale Slawson on December 15, 1945 & they made Bristow their home. They remained together until his death in 2008. Helen had worked for many years as the custodian at the Bristow First Church of God until her retirement. She enjoyed fishing, camping, helping her husband with his woodworking projects, and spending time with family & friends. She was a longtime faithful member of the church. In addition to her parents & husband, she was preceded in death by TWIN BROTHERS: Ronald & Donald Wyatt; & a SISTER-IN-LAW: Helen Willick.

Her remaining family includes her 2 CHILDREN: Larry Slawson & wife Gail of Tulsa – Sheri Tomiello & husband Don of Texas; GRANDCHILDREN: Sheri Lynn Slawson Romero – Kendra Gail Tomiello – Kelsey Michelle Tomiello; GREAT Grandchildren: Allison Romero & Royal McClain; her TWIN BROTHER: Harlan Lester Wyatt & his wife Imogene of Norman; & several Nieces – Nephews - other relatives & friends.
