Harold Smith, resident of Oilton, formerly of Drumright, passed from this life in Tulsa on September 4, 2017 at the age of 73 years, 9 months, & 15 days. A memorial service was held October 28, 2017, 2 p.m. at the Olive First Baptist Church. Cremation services were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Drumright.
Harold D. Smith was born in Leonard, Oklahoma on November 20, 1943 to the late Gomer Smith & Flo (Brown) Smith. He was raised in Leonard & graduated from Bixby High School in 1961. He married his childhood sweetheart, Hila Sue Hampton, on January 24, 1963 & they raised 6 children. The family moved to Drumright in 1978. Harold retired in 2017 after 38 years as ranch foreman for Pat Badger. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, & was a big practical joker. He also loved spending time with his family & grandkids, as he rarely missed any of his grandchildren’s sporting events. In 2013, his beloved wife, Hila Sue Smith, passed away. He then married Sherryl (Dawson) Gulley in 2014 & they made their home in Oilton. In addition to his parents & 1st wife, he was preceded in death by 1 SISTER: Christine Propst; & a BROTHER: Wayne Smith.
