Obituary for Eldon Ralph Rodebush

Eldon Ralph Rodebush
Funeral services for former Drumright resident, Eldon R. Rodebush, were held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2017 in the Drumright First Baptist Church with his son-in-law, Joe Powers officiating, assisted by Pastor Bill Blaylock of the Drumright Bible Believers Church. Interment followed in Shamrock Cemetery at Shamrock, OK. Funeral services were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Drumright.

Eldon R. Rodebush was born in Shamrock, Oklahoma on May 15, 1936 to the late Ralph Howard Rodebush & Minnie Ruth (Munns) Rodebush. He passed from this life in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on August 21, 2017 at the age of 81 years, 3 months, & 6 days. Eldon was raised & educated in Shamrock, Oklahoma but was considered a 1954 alumni of Drumright High School. He met the love of his life; Darla Jane Wilson & they were married on May 22, 1953. They were blessed with 56 years of marriage until her death in 2009. Eldon was an independent heavy equipment operator & had worked in the oil fields until his retirement in 2003. After retirement, he drove a school bus for the Drumright schools. Eldon loved to race motorcycles & play the harmonica. But his greatest love & joy was spending time with his family & grandchildren. If a grandchild had a school function, activity, or ball game, he would be there (come hell or high water!). He was dedicated & devoted to his family & will be sadly missed. In addition to his parents & wife, he was preceded in death by a SON: Ronald Wayne Rodebush; DAUGHTER: Terena Marie Powers; GRANDSON: Douglas Robert Rodebush; SON-in-LAW: Richard McQuain; 2 BROTHERS: Leon & Leo Rodebush.

His remaining family includes CHILDREN: Donald Rodebush of Jones – Terry Rodebush of Bug Tussle – Rhonda McQuain of Maryland – Karla Justus of Broken Arrow; 16 GRANDCHILDREN - 43 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN; & numerous other family members & loving friends.
