Graveside services for Theda Ethel Gilreath were held at Magnolia Memorial Gardens in Bristow, OK on July 15, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Services were officiated by Chaplain Terry Snelling. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Bristow, OK.

Theda Ethel Gilreath was born in Bristow, OK on March 19, 1926 to the late Claude Marion Smith and Nellie Edith (Ramsey) Smith. She passed from this life at the Cleveland Manor Nursing Home in Cleveland, OK on July 10, 2017 at the age of 91 years, 3 months, & 22 days. Theda was raised and educated in Bristow, OK. She was a 1943 graduate of Bristow High School. Theda was united in marriage to Frank Harvey Gilreath on February 7, 1946 in Mena, AR and they had remained together until his passing in 2004. The family spent 32 years in other states due to her husband’s career in the US Navy. They returned to Bristow, Ok from California in 1973 to be close to family. Theda worked as a medical transcriptionist until retiring in the late 1980’s. Her hobbies included gardening, reading, and crocheting. She also enjoyed time out, playing bingo and going to casinos. In addition to her parents and her husband of 58 years, Theda was preceded in death by 4 BROTHERS: 1 SISTER: 7 GRANDCHILDREN: and 1 GREAT-GRANDDAUGHTER.

Those left to mourn her passing include her SON: Phillip E. Gilreath;
2 DAUGHTERS: Fran C. Aguilera and Joyce M. Bowen;
9 GRANDCHILDREN; 10 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN; 3 GREAT-GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN;
1 BROTHER: Ernest E. “Babe” Smith; Plus numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
