A celebration service for Oilton resident, Lynn Calvin Campbell, was held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017 in the Oilton High School Gymnasium with Rev. Larry Calvert of the Oilton First Baptist Church officiating. Special Music was provided by the New Mannford Ramp All-Stars. Interment followed in the Highland Cemetery with Larry Broughton – Larry Morris – Ed Turley – Happy Kidd – Travis Bishop – & Charles Burrow serving as casket bearers. Honorary bearers were Darrell Smith – Jim Smith – Jim Harmon – Steve Carmickel - & Dan Hollon. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Drumright. Lynn Calvin Campbell was born in Drumright, OK on September 21, 1938 to the late William Calvin Campbell & Mary Elizabeth (Lee) Campbell. He passed from this life at his residence in Oilton on April 25, 2017 at the age of 78 years, 7 months, & 4 days. Lynn was raised, educated, and has lived all of his life in this area. On February 24, 1961 he married Mary Alta Schonfield & they have remained together until his death. Lynn had worked C&N as general manager, Noble Resources, Drumright Well Service, Badger Ranch, & was the former owner of the Bait Shop & Ice House. He had served on the Oilton City Council, was a volunteer firefighter, & was very active in the Terlton Senior Citizens Center. He was loved by many but will most notably be remembered as “Mr. Bubble Gum” & for his musical talent. He played in numerous area bands such as the Country Misfits – Terlton Pipeliners Band - & was the Head Rat with the River Rats. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a GRANDSON: William Calvin “Billbo” Campbell; Brothers & Sisters: Lawrence Campbell, Fern Campbell Hughes, Geraldine Campbell Baggs Hamilton.
His remaining family includes his loving Wife: Mary of the home; SON: Robert Campbell, & Daughter: Mendie Campbell, all of Oilton; Grandchildren: Jacob – Casey – Johnathan - & Hannah; Sister: Jane Campbell Cook of Okmulgee; & numerous other relatives & friends.
