Obituary for Phillip "PaPa" Semler

Funeral services for Drumright resident, Phillip Semler, were held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017 in the Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Sonny Johnston of Crossway Church in Cushing officiating. Interment followed in the Drumright Oak Hill Cemetery. Phillip “PaPa” Semler was born in Drumright, OK on October 2, 1937 to the late Ivan Semler & Virginia (Morgan) Semler. He passed from this life at his residence on April 9, 2017 at the age of 79 years, 6 months, & 7 days. Phillip was raised & educated in Drumright & lived most all of his life in the Drumright area. On April 12, 1956 he married Georgia Ann Mills in Drumright & they raised 2 sons: Mike & Billy. Phillip had worked as a brick mason & tile installer & retired from Stogsdill Tile Company in 2007. He enjoyed fishing, running trotlines, raising cattle, & baling hay. However, the true treasures in his life were spending time with his family & friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 SONS: Billy Ray Semler & Michael Lee Semler; his WIFE in 2012; Great GRANDCHILDREN: Lance, Tommy, & Preston; SISTERS: Betty, Fern, & Norma; & best FRIEND: Lee Brittenham.

Those left to carry on his legacy include his GRANDCHILDREN & their families: Kelli Semler, plus Justin & Bailey – Kristi & Kenny Tabor, plus Brooklyn, Kelsi, Abby, & Jase – Curtis Semler – Michael & Jennifer Semler, plus Caden & Ariah – Jeffery & Amber Semler, plus Quorben – LeeAnn & Keith Weaver, plus Gary & Colt; also numerous Nieces, Nephews, other relatives & many friends.
