Funeral services for Drumright resident, Debbie Burtchett, were held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Drumright Church of the Nazarene with Rev. John Smith of the Drumright First Free Will Baptist Church officiating. Interment followed in Drumright Oak Hill Cemetery. Debbie Burtchett was born in Cushing, OK on July 7, 1957 to Robert Allen Wells & Margaret Ann (Smith) Wells. She passed from this life in Tulsa on March 24, 2017 at the age of 59 years, 8 months, & 17 days. Debbie was raised in Drumright & was a 1975 graduate of Drumright High School. She furthered her education at Bethany Nazarene College & graduated with 2 degrees in 1979. Debbie married William E. Burtchett in Drumright on April 18, 1986. They made their home in Drumright & remained together until Bill’s unexpected death from an auto accident in October 2016. Debbie had worked in Drumright, Bristow, & Sapulpa as a Creek County Deputy Court Clerk for 29+ years until her retirement in 2011. At the time of her death, she was employed as an invoice clerk for Tucker Construction (formerly A+ Welding). Debbie enjoyed many things & excelled at whatever tasks she undertook. She was very musically talented & at the time of her death, was writing a series of children’s books. She enjoyed collecting lighthouses & loved her Dachshund dogs; but nothing was more precious to her than spending time with her family. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her.

She leaves behind her PARENTS: Robert “Pete” & Margaret Wells of Drumright; SON: Jared James of Tulsa; STEP-DAUGHTER: Kristen Long & husband David of Morris; GRANDCHILDREN: Brittaney & Chris Cantrell – Brandon & Christina Long – Jillyan Long & Justin Long; 7 GREAT Grandchildren; & numerous other relatives & friends.
