Obituary for Luella Glisson-Vanderslice (Brown)

Funeral services for Luella Glisson-Vanderslice were held at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Bristow Christian Center with Pastor Wayne Gemmill officiating. Serving as casket bearers were Justin Glisson, Dustin Glisson, Randy Mason, JoJo Murphy, Amos McNat, and Gary Gramm. Honorary bearers were Hershel Gramm and Jess Powell. Immediately following, interment took place in the Bristow Oaklawn Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Bristow, OK.

Molly Luella Glisson-Vanderslice was born in Tuskegee, OK on December 14, 1933 to the late Lonnie Thomas Brown and Roxie Victoria (Cron) Brown. She passed from this life in the Rainbow Health Care Center on February 9, 2017 at the age of 83 years, 1 month, & 26 days. At the age of 5, Luella’s family moved to Bristow, OK where she remained a resident ever since. Luella was employed by Kwikset and held a position as an office clerk until the company shut down in 2005. For several years Luella and her husband Mike enjoyed owning and running an Antique Thrift Store on Main Street Bristow. They both dearly loved their dogs, Clint & Mattie. Luella was very active in the Bristow Elks Lodge for many years & faithfully attended the Bristow Christian Center. She enjoyed reading & working Find-a-Word puzzles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband of 33 years: Gary Michael Vanderslice; & a SON: Danny Lawrence Glisson.

She is survived by 1 SON: Jerry Tharon Glisson & wife Lanett;
2 STEP-CHILDREN: Tammy Jones & husband Travis – and Gary Lee Vanderslice;
9 GRANDCHILDREN; 5 GREAT- GRANDCHILDREN;
1 SISTER: Pauline Jones; and a host of other family & friends.
