Obituary for Ethel Osburn

Graveside funeral rites for Drumright resident, Ethel Keeling Osburn, were held 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 6, 2017 in the Shamrock Cemetery at Shamrock, OK with Rev. Kevin Vogele of the Drumright River of Life Christian Center officiating. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Drumright. Ethel Keeling Osburn was born in Drumright, Oklahoma on September 13, 1934 to the late Charlie Smith & Ella Mae (Holden) Smith. She passed from this life in Tulsa on February 2, 2017 at the age of 82 years, 4 months, & 20 days. Ethel was raised & educated in Bristow & attended the Bristow Schools. She had lived her entire life in the Bristow / Drumright area. In 1952 she married Sig Junior Keeling & they had 6 girls; Ella, Effie, Maxine, Rita, Maria, & Shirley. They later divorced & in 1985 she married Perry Osburn. They made their home in Bristow & remained together until his death in 1999. After Perry’s death, she moved to Drumright where she remained the rest of her days. Ethel enjoyed embroidery, playing bingo, traveling, & was the world’s best pie maker. She loved an adventure; but nothing was more important to her than her church & spending time with her family. In addition to her parents & two husbands, she was preceded in death by a DAUGHTER: Maria Senich; GRANDSON: Stephen O’Neal; GREAT Granddaughter: Ambyr Peterson; 4 BROTHERS: Troy – Roy – Raymond - & George Smith; 3 SISTERS: Ruby – Joyce - & Pauline; 3 Sons-In-Law: Stephen Kent O’Neal – Tommy Joe Inman - & Gerald Osburn.



Her remaining family includes 5 DAUGHTERS: Ella Salyer & husband Terry of Bristow – Effie Osburn of Drumright – Maxine Inman of Depew – Rita O’Neal of Bristow – Shirley McClendon & husband Richard of Drumright; 18 GRANDCHILDREN - 36 GREAT Grandchildren – 5 Great GREAT Grandchildren + 1 on the way; 3 BROTHERS & 1 SISTER: Margie Childress of Arkansas – Burley Smith of Sapulpa – Charles Smith of Ponca City – Freddie Smith of Yale; & numerous Nieces, Nephews, other relatives & friends.
