Funeral services for Leroy Washington were held at New Life International Worship Center, officiated by Reverend Eric Parker, on Saturday January 7, 2017 at 11:00 am. Serving as casket bearers were Anthony Crawford, Chris Crawford, Mark Jamison, Deon Jamison, Austin Madkins, and Lexus Jackson. Immediately following the services, interment was held at Durant Cemetery in Bristow, OK. Funeral services were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Bristow, OK.

Leroy Washington was born in Slick, OK on August 25, 1930 to the late Roy Washington & Ozie Viola (Gains) Washington. He passed from this life at his residence in Bristow, OK on December 31, 2016 at the age of 86 years, 4 months, & 6 days. He was raised and educated in Slick, OK. During his younger years Leroy lived in Beggs, OK and then moved to Bristow, OK in 1953 and had called it home since. Also, during the year of 1953 Leroy was united in marriage with Betty Johnson. Leroy was employed as a union worker in the field of construction until his retirement in 1996. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and spending time at the park, always cleaning it up for the children. You could count on him to lend anyone a helping hand. Leroy was a fan of rodeo, basketball, and dogs. In addition to both parents, he was preceded in death by his only BROTHER: Leo Washington; and his 2 SISTERS: Bert Washington & Reenee Washington.

Those left to mourn his passing include HIS WIFE: Betty Johnson; 1 SON: Ricky Washington; 2 DAUGHTERS: Sandra Washington & Wilma Jones; GRANDCHILDREN: Inell Williams – Angie Cooper – Ronkeisha Washington – Shakeema Washington – plus several other grandchildren, along with a host of great-grandchildren & great-great-grandchildren; Also, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
