Funeral services for Bristow resident, Kathryn Woods, were held in the Memorial Chapel at Michael’s Funeral Home – Bristow, on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 10:30 am with Pastor Zane Cooper of Valley View Church of God in Depew, OK officiating. Serving as casket bearers were Kenneth Locke, Henry Woods, Matthew Woods, William Locke, Dylan Woods, and Colton Woods. Interment took place in the Bristow City Oaklawn Cemetery. Services were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Bristow, OK.

Kathryn Woods was born in Tulsa, OK on June 20, 1948 to the late Clayton Parks and Dolly (Gear) Parks. She passed from this life suddenly in the Bristow Medical Center on November 3, 2016 at the age of 68 years, 4 months & 14 days. Kathryn was raised & educated in Skiatook, OK and was a 1966 graduate of Skiatook High School. She continued her education and became a Licensed Practical Nurse and then became a Registered Nurse. After returning to this area from Houston, TX in the 1980’s she was employed by Bristow Medical Center and continued her career as the Director of Nursing at Mohawk Nursing Center in Tulsa, OK and then retired in 2001 as a Home Health Nurse in Okmulgee, OK. In 1967, she married Kenneth Locke & they had 2 children. They remained together until his untimely death in 1971. In 1972, she was untied in marriage to Henry Woods and had two more sons. Kathryn enjoyed scrap booking and was an avid reader. She loved animals and took in many strays. She was a compassionate person and always put others needs ahead of her own. She loved her family very much. In addition to both parents and her 1st husband, Kathryn was preceded in death by 1Daughter: Kara Lea Locke in 1988; and 1 Granddaughter: Kara Lynn Locke in 1990.

Those left to mourn her passing include her CHILDREN: Kenneth Locke and spouse Megan – Henry Woods and girlfriend Tammie – Matthew Woods – and Gladys Taylor whom she considered as a daughter;11 GRANDCHILDREN: William Locke – Kenneth Locke – Keith Locke – Kathryn Locke – Akasha Locke – Dylan Woods – Colton Woods – Dalton Woods – Zaria Guinn – Lilly Guinn – and Jean King.
