Obituary for George Steele Carrie

Funeral services for Depew resident George Carrie were held at the Church of God in Depew, OK on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 10:00 am. Officiating was Ben Conley assisted by Rev Brent Hinkle. Serving as casket bearers were Kirk Carrie, Ben Conley, Clint Musser, Jasper Schonfield, Dennis Young, and Dustan Steele. Interment took place at Oakdale Cemetery in Depew, OK. Services were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Bristow, OK.

George Carrie was born in Chicago, IL on September 14, 1948 to the late George Steele Carrie, Sr. and Shirley (Johnson) Carrie. He passed from this life un-expectedly at his residence in Depew, OK on October 5, 2016 at the age of 68 years & 21 days. Just out of school, George joined the United States Army and served our Country during the Vietnam War. George received an honourable discharge on September 3, 1968. Shortly afterwards on January 29, 1969 George and Harriet Lynn Craig were united in marriage in Detroit, MI. The family moved to this area from Chicago in 1976. George was self-employed and had built a thriving and respectable business, (George Carrie Painting). He valued a good work ethic and cherished friendships. His hobbies included riding his Harley every chance he got and fishing. George was a member of the Assembly of God. In addition to both parents, he was preceded in death by 1Brother.

Those left to mourn his passing include HIS WIFE: Harriet Carrie; his MOTHER-IN-LAW: Evelyn Craig; 2 DAUGHTERS: Julia Conley and husband Ben – Cassie Schonfield and husband Jasper; 1 SON: Kirk Carrie and wife Amanda; 10 GRANDCHILDREN: Jill and husband Clint – Brandon – Megan – Kaitlyn – Madeline – Haley – Hollie – Courtney – Lauren - & Max; 3 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Ethan – Colten - & Alyssa; 3 BROTHERS: George Wolf – Bill Wolf - & Steele George Carrie; Also, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
