Obituary for David Leroy Hudson

Graveside services for Drumright resident, David L. Hudson were held 10 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2016 in the Euchee Valley Memorial Park Cemetery near Cushing, OK. Military funeral honors were provided by the United States Marine Corps. Rev. Robert Whisnant of the Drumright Cornerstone Light House Church officiated. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Drumright.

David L. Hudson was born in Strong City, Kansas on May 2, 1950 to the late Charles Otto Hudson & Evelyn Mabell (Green) Hudson. He passed from this life at his residence on August 11, 2016 at the age of 66 years, 3 months, & 9 days. David was raised & educated in Pineville, Louisiana. After graduating high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps in 1971 & served his country during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1979 & moved to Oklahoma City where he worked for the Coca Cola for several years. He later moved to Kansas and worked 15 years at Mary Herbert Elementary School in Emporia until retirement in 2000. On July 3, 1999 he married Dorothy (Williamson) Marshall in Emporia, KS. They have made Drumright their home since 2009. David enjoyed fishing, any outdoor activity, and spending time with his family & friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a BROTHER: Charles Ottis Hudson.

His remaining family includes his WIFE: Dorothy Hudson of Drumright; SON: David Hudson, Jr. of Oklahoma City; STEPDAUGHTER: Sabrina Kearns & husband Tim of Kansas; STEPSON: Bill Marshall, Jr. of Kansas; GRANDCHILDREN: Raven Kearns – Alexis Marshall – Blayz Marshall; 3 BROTHERS: Harold Hudson & wife Linda of Louisiana – Dale Kitlen of Kansas – Daniel Hudson & wife Ginny of Kansas; 2 SISTERS: Ruth Ann & husband Craig of California – Ila Griffin & husband Joe of Oklahoma City; several Nieces – Nephews - other relatives & friends.
