Obituary for Lorne Wade Guyer

Funeral services for Drumright Fire Chief, Lorne Wade Guyer, were held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2015 in the Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Henry Kellogg of the Drumright First Assembly of God Church & Rev. Timothy Jolly of the Cushing Full Gospel Assembly of God Church officiating. Lorne Wade Guyer was born in Emporia, Kansas on November 23, 1973 to Loren Everett Guyer & Deborah (Hicks) Guyer. He passed from this life in Tulsa after a courageous battle against cancer on October 2, 2015 at the age of 41 years, 10 months, & 19 days. Wade came to Drumright in 1977 with his family & remained here the rest of his life. In 1995 he joined the Drumright Fire Department as a volunteer & in 2000 became a full-time dispatcher for the Drumright Police Department. He worked his way up through the ranks of the fire department and became fire chief in 2012. He married Kimberly Ledgerwood in Arkansas on February 13, 2002 & they made their home in Drumright. Wade loved being a firefighter and gave of himself unselfishly to the department. His dedication & devotion to the protection of not only the citizens of Drumright & the surrounding areas, but all humanity as well, will be greatly missed. In his leisure time, he would enjoy hunting and riding his motorcycle. He was preceded in death by Maternal Grandparents: Don & Louise Hicks; & Paternal Grandfather: Everett Guyer.

His remaining family includes his WIFE: Kim Guyer; 4 CHILDREN: Braxton Guyer – Keeley Guyer – Lauryn Ashley Ramsey & husband Chris - & Alexandria; GRANDCHILDREN: Cheyenne, Jordan, & Talon Ramsey; his MOTHER: Debbie Yeager & husband Dave of Cushing; FATHER: Loren Guyer & wife Marsha of Drumright; GRANDMOTHER: Willie Ruth of Cushing; SISTER: Laura Elaine Guyer of Guthrie; 3 NIECES: Destiny – Andrea - & Lindsey; 2 NEPHEWS: Kaden Ledgerwood & Kylor Ledgerwood; the Drumright Fire Department; & numerous other relatives & countless friends.
